Sunday, September 12th, 2010Urban Acres is Your Farm Store in the City – a local co-op and farm store that provides the very best in local and organic foods.
Most of the products you find at Urban Acres cannot be found at other local health food stores, because they work directly with local Texas farmers who farm 100% organically. You’ll find farm fresh local meats, dairy, produce, local raw honey, raw chocolate, wild-caught fish from Alaska and much more.
Another unique part of Urban Acres is their co-op membership. Once you become a member you take part in the produce co-op, special member pricing at the farm store and access to the chalkboard sales during the week.
You can chose from 5 farm stands located around the Dallas area to pick up your share every other week, when you become a member. No more waiting in line for picked-over product at the grocery store!!
Farm stand locations are in Irving, Addison, Park Cities, Oak Cliff, Uptown and White Rock. The farm stands are simply local pick-up spots where members get their product or other items that they have ordered in advance such as meat or dairy.
Farm stores are full organic food markets where members can pick up pre-ordered food or shop. Currently the only farm store is located in Oak Cliff here, but there are more planned for the future!
I’m really excited about all of the recipes on the Urban Acres site! (Check them out here!) Members share ideas about what to make from the variety delivered, so cooking those healthy veggies is more fun! I can’t wait to get my first batch!
