OK…I just got home and was sorting the bills from the junk and found a very pink booklet that caught my eye. On the front it reads “PLASTIC” in very bold letters. As I open it and start checking out what this is all about, I cannot believe what I am seeing! Mattel is getting ready to launch a few limited edition items that have me dumbfounded!

Comme Des Garcons Barbie - $350
This designer Barbie is one of the less expensive of this limited edition capsule collection. It will include privately commissioned Barbie art, decor, apparel, and accessories carefully curated from around the world.

Barbie Louis Ghost Chair - $650
The PLASTIC collection is the first in a series that will debut on May 4th at barbiecollector.com/plastic. Other items from designers around the world will include the following:
- French designed “Objet D’ Art” Foosball Table – $25,000 (This is the creepiest thing you’ve ever seen! Armless Barbies ready for action!)
- Jonathan Adler “1959 Barbie Mirror” – $8,800
- Barbie Pop Art (first in the series) – $750 (Basically Barbie’s head with the statement “plastic is fantastic”)
- “Dream a Neon Dream” Barbie Neon sign in bright pink – $2,500
- Fancy Footwear Barbie Shoes Ring by Margaux Lange – $250 (little plastic shoes form a pinwheel effect on a sterling silver ring)
AND for the Barbie lover who has it all, Ultramar Travel Management has put together a one-of-a-kind Barbie experience in Shanghai that will include “three decadent days of Barbie fun with 2 business class round-trip tickets, 4 nights stay at a 5-star hotel (double occupancy) and private car service while in China.” While in Shanghai, you’ll be treated to a spa package, a tour of the House of Barbie Flagship store, VIP $1,000 shopping spree and a personalized tour of Shanghai. Here’s a sneak peek of the Flagship Barbie store.

Don’t get your hopes up too much for snagging one of these trips…there’s only ONE available and the value is $30,000. I can’t make this stuff up, folks…
Is this disturbing to anyone else? Are they serious??
