My sweet friend, Ronda Carmen of All The Best blog, introduced me to Tammy Connor of Tammy Connor Interior Design, and after seeing her timeless, classic designs, I had to find out what was on her ‘hidden list’!
Tammy Connor has built her reputation on creating timeless classic interiors infused with a casual southern elegance. Her attention to detail along with her relaxed approach to formal spaces results in interiors that are sophisticated yet inviting. Seamlessly integrating antiques, contemporary pieces, personal collections of clients, and fabrics of varying textures with subtle yet studied color palette are the trademarks of Tammy’s interiors.
She is the principle of Tammy Connor Interior Design, which she founded in Charleston, South Carolina in 1999. Her firm has completed comprehensive residential projects throughout the eastern United States ranging from town, country, mountain, and beach houses. Her hospitality projects have also included private clubhouses.
Tammy is continually inspired by her travels both personally and professionally. While the location and style of the firm’s work is diverse, respect for the architecture and setting of a project is at the heart of Tammy’s interiors. She is consistently dedicated to enhancing the lifestyle of her clients, and she firmly believes that the best interiors are the ones that beckon you to have a seat and stay awhile.
“Between my adventure-seeking husband and traveling for work I am often on the go. I have come to rely on a few items to keep me going and provide some creature comforts of home while I am away.”
Rani Arabella Jetsetter throw “This is the perfect travel companion! The cashmere blanket is soft, comfortable, and the case becomes the cover for the airplane pillow. One of my favorite things to do is curl up with a good throw no matter where I happen to be.”
Tom Ford Raquel Sunglasses ”These are my favorite sunglasses because they are lightweight and stylish. Right now I am wearing them in the most beautiful navy/grey color and they work with everything. When my first pair got broken, after searching through many options, I ended up just replacing them with an identical pair. I have a few clients and friends with the same pair and we all love them!”
Prada tote bag A favorite gift from a client last year when we completed a job. Not only is it beautiful, it is a great size that can fit all of the essentials, as well as a book, an architectural scale and trash paper! This bag is similar in shape and size, but mine is this wonderful cloudy grey color.
Taryan Rose Kelsey wedge shoes These are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own! Whether I am shopping for clients all day, visiting a job site or playing tourist, I am probably wearing these shoes. And they are light enough to throw into a bag if I want to dress up a little more for dinner.
Black Pearls “My black pearls were an anniversary gift from my husband several years ago and I love them. They are so classic, and instantly add elegance to any outfit. They also remind me of home.”
OPI Barefoot in Barcelona ” This polish is a great neutral color that goes with almost everything. It’s a subtle deep rose color that is feminine and pretty!”
Tammy just launched a beautiful website that showcases her gorgeous designs! tammyconnorid.com Be sure to ‘like’ her Facebook page follow her travels and projects!
Thank you, Tammy, for sharing your list! XO!
For years I’ve used regular zip-lock bags for all of my cosmetics when I travel. It’s truly the best thing to use to ensure that you won’t open up your suitcase to lotion or shampoo covered clothes. But let’s face it…they’re clear and ugly.
That’s why I’m so excited to find these…
Tili (an acronym for “take it or leave it”) bags are FDA approved, PABA-free, re-usable and come in two sizes. Each box contains 12 bags of chic and colorful bags. Winner!
Get your Tili bags here.
There’s no better way to personalize a space than by adding a monogram. By taking that extra step to personalize your linens you instantly add classic style and character. Monograms are traditional…never trendy…and are appropriate for any design style. Peacock Alley is one of the only fine linen companies that offers the option to add a monogram, or your own special words of inspiration, to anything from pillows to bed covers.
Not only does Peacock Alley provide multiple options for monograming, they take it to the next level by offering custom sizing and and ability to personalize just about anything with their custom sewing services. The company’s VP, Josh Needleman, demonstrated the ultimate in personalization when he decked out his restored Airstream, The Steel Magnolia…he calls it ‘a boutique hotel on wheels’.
Those of you that read THL frequenting know of my love for Airstreams…so you can just imagine how this little silver jewel makes my heart skip a beat! Be still my heart! Check out this news story from Fox 5 in San Diego to see more!

I know it’s a little early to talk about stocking stuffers, but these are the types of things that we can collect throughout the year to make “stuffing our stockings” with ease when that crazy season rolls around! Who couldn’t use a good pair of suitcase eyes, right?
These can be found at select Muji Japanese minimalist stores, in the NYC area. I’m sure that they would be happy to ship, so chose your location and give them a call…

I wish you could have all been with me on my adventure to Paris. I hope that my posts this week brought a bit of the inspiration that I received in France back to you. To end my week of Parisian memories, I thought I would just share some of m
y favorite photos from the week…
Au Revoir, Paris…until we meet again…
After reuniting with some of my very best college friends in the fall of 2010, we determined that 2011 should be a year of celebration and new beginnings and what better way to celebrate than with a trip to Paris! One of my friends, Mary Charles, had a daughter who would be graduating in May 2011 and planning to move to Paris to study at Cordon Bleu, so planning a trip around the beginning of her new studies made sense.
We all lead busy lives and are spread across Dallas, Houston, College Station and Aiken, South Carolina, so the help of Valerie, at Riverside Travel, was essential! This knowledgable travel agency/French antique shop specializes in French flea market shopping trips and was recently featured in Flea Market Style magazine. Hands down, Valerie's expertise and attention to detail played the #1 biggest part in our ease of travel and ability to see that all of our individual priorities were met. My two favorite “hook-ups” from Valerie were our centrally located hotel and our personal shopping guide.
Valerie's hotel suggestion, Le Littr'e, was affordable, spacious and accomodating…much more than I ever expected! Our party of 5 had private access to their top floor, two-bedroom suite that was like no other European hotel experience that any of us ever had in past travel experiences. Our bathrooms were huge… with all of the modern amenities that all Americans love! The staff took great care of us and is even taking care of packing and shipping a flea market art treasure to me.
My top priority in Paris was experiencing Les Puces de Saint-Quen at Porte de Clignancourt. Strolling around the Eiffel Tower, going to the Lourve, Musee de Orsay, etc were on my list of to-do's…but at the top? Les Puces (The Fleas)! Hearing that I was a “flea freak”, Valerie told me about my soon-to-be Paris BFF, Jodie!
Jodie Hutchins is an absolute doll and our greatest resource during our time in Paris! Her personal shopping and guide service is a must for anyone who plans to spend a day, or more, shopping the flea or luxury designers in France. She asks what you would like to find prior to your arrival and scours the shops before you get there, so that there's no time waisted on hunting for that specific vintage Hermes' bag or Christian Louboutin nude stiletto. Her fluent English and French allow for perfect translations and negotiations. Voila! I can't wait to go back to Paris and see her! I truly made a new friend.
(Double cheek kisses to you, Jodie!)
I was in awe at the variety of vintage art everywhere! (my obsession…)
Everything seemed to be beautiful in Paris…even “the fleas”
Here are a few of my favorite shots from our day…
Jodie led us to a tucked-away section that she said was much like “Sanford and Son” where we found tons of treasures and one of my new art treasures…a real deal at 60 Euros!
It was such a fun day! I can't wait to share more Parisian inspiration with you this week!
Be sure to check out The Hidden List Facebook page for more photos…
I'm back from an incredible vacation in Paris and I can't wait to share some of my adventures with you! Paris is full of such inspiration, so I'm planning to devote next week to giving you an overview of what I saw, heard, tasted and how it all filled my heart with joy!
During the week my friends and I took our fair share of cheesy tourist pictures…like this…
Thats me taking our picture in the mirrors of The Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Total cheese! I'm sure that I could find a few shots that would qualify for this new website dedicated to pictures next to tourists taking pictures! Check out Paddison Program For Rheumatoid Arthritis
