The Finial Touch Giveaway
My fellow Dallas blogger friend, Kyle Knight of Knight Moves, recently posted about Hilary Thomas’ adorable Chic Shop in Brentwood where she snuck in a little shopping before heading back to Dallas after the recent Design Bloggers Conference. I immediately hopped on Hilary’s on-line shop and fell in love with her line of finials!
The Rock ‘n Rolla collection is my favorite! I’m particularly drawn to the bright colors, as they would add the perfect little pop to any lamp.
Zulu Love Train Collection – A collection created with telephone wire which is hand-woven by Zulu weavers in South Africa. Each is ‘one of a kind’ and the unique vision of each individual artisan.
Madame Chiang Collection – Wow! Gorgeous carved jade…timeless!
Hillary says, “Think of finials as jewelry for your lamps. “The Finial Touch” is a fresh new collection of lamp finials, a category often overlooked by the design world. This line is inspired by an era when attention to design detail, whimsy, and cultural flair were celebrated in the smallest of home furnishings.”
If you’re like me, you’re ready to order one for each lamp in your home! I’m excited to tell you that Hillary is giving the finial of your choice to the winner of this giveaway!
Here’s what you need to do to enter!
Leave a comment here (not my Facebook page) and let us know what finial is your favorite and why. This is the hardest part, right? How in the world do you chose just one?

Surround Sound
OK…I’m not easily impressed by fancy televisions and surround sound systems… When Amy, from House of Wentworth, and I decided to check out the Bose demonstration during the Design Blogger’s Conference, we expected to listen to some good music and enjoy a free light lunch in the music suite of the Millennium Biltmore. I never expected to be completely astounded by a an entertainment system…that’s a ‘dude thing’, right?
We were offered the opportunity to see a demonstration in a small room inside the suite. When I walked into the room, the first thing I noticed were small speakers sitting in each corner and thought that we were in for a great sound demo….and we certainly were. We were shown exceptional high quality images on the television screen and listened to music that couldn’t have been better if it was live. What truly blew me away was when the Bose rep performing the demo removed the speakers! We soon found out that all of the speakers were IN the TV! The sounds that had been coming from behind us were magically coming from the product in front of us! Wild!
Hallelujah! Answered prayers for all of those fighting with your husbands about the need to have old skool speakers all over your den in order to “feel” the sound!
If that wasn’t impressive enough, you’ll only need ONE remost control that is easy enough for a first grader to use! Oh, wait a minute…I should say a 3 yr old considering the fact that babies can use most technology better than adults these days!
Amy and I both agreed that we WILL have one of these as soon as financially possible!
Find out all of the info on this revolutionary entertainment system here. When you consider how much your huge tv and stereo system cost, the price tag of this all-in-one is a great value!
Bose VideoWave Entertainment System (includes delivery and set up), $4,999
To get your own demo, head to a Bose retail store. You won’t believe your ears!
Follow Your Bose
While I was at the Design Blogger’s Conference I got to see several new amazing products that are new to the market, so I want to share some of my favorites in a few posts. I’ve already ordered this speaker and can’t wait for it to be delivered!
The Bose SoundLink Wireless Mobile speaker is a compact portable speaker that can be used with your phone, laptop or tablet! This will go with me on all trips moving forward. The sound is amazing!
Bose understands our need to accessorize our technology, so they’ve made these colorful cases that come in nylon or leather so you can sufficiently ‘pimp out’ your case.
The minute I heard the sound coming out of these little speakers I knew I had to have one! The sound quality of Bose is exceptional! Get yours here for $299.95.
Did any of you just place this on your wish list? Do you currently use a portable speaker with your phone or laptop that you like? Do you own a Bose product?
This isn’t the only Bose product that I got to see in LA. The one that I’ll tell you about next, literally blew me away! Stay tuned…
Picture This
This is not only a cool iPhone case, but it also has three interchangeable magnetic lens…fisheye, telephoto and wide/macro!
Find it at Photojojo for $65 on it’s own, or $99 with the lens.
When Three Legs Are Better Than Four
This Wegner cowhide shell chair makes my Texas heart skip a beat! Yee haw ya’ll!
Since I don’t have the #3,495 to “shell out” for this right now, I’m going to have to settle for this print by Vince Pezzaniti from Society 6.
I have an obsession with chairs! Do you? Here are a couple of my favorite chair finds here and here. What is your favorite chair?
Flett Go!
I expressed my love for Erin Flett’s colorful, happy designs here last year. Her bright barkcloth pillows are perfect for brightening up your favorite space for Spring! I’m totally smitten with her new designs!
I want them all!!
Erin recently released this 27″x39″ giant cloth print too… Amazing, right?
Find all of Erin’s happy goods in her Etsy shop and follow her on Facebook to be the first to see her new work!
Sleeping In Style
See Scout Sleep just added adorable collars and leashes to their mix!
Totally love their “unisex” vibe! My Princess is not a “girly girl” (like me) so these are perfection for her!
Don’t miss their adorable dog beds!
Does your dog have a special collar? Is your pet’s fashion selection better than your own?
