Does anyone else love Amy Grant like I do? Just hearing her voice brings back so many old memories of college and some friends that I haven’t seen in years! (uh-oh…I think I just aged myself!)
I’ve been all about “stepping outside of the box” lately and trying new things, so I was thrilled when my good friend, Trey, asked me at the last minute to go to the Sammons Cabaret Series performance last week! Tracy Fulton, the master of ceremonies, has put together a four month series of talented vocalist that are sure to please. The environment is a traditional American Cabaret setting with small cocktail tables and low lighting…AND drinks and snacks come with your ticket!
Gary Floyd topped the bill last week performing the songs of Harry Warren. I was amazed at how many songs I knew…like “You’ll Never Know” (possibly the sweetest song ever!) and “At Last”. The amazingly talented Julie Bonk accompanied him. Julie is well-known for teaching Norah Jones and will mesmerize you on the piano!
I challenge you to step outside of the box and try new things! Life is short and there are so many things on this earth for us to experience. Get as much in as you can before it’s too late!
Dont’ forget about the shopping event of the season this Saturday! The Dallas Flea! You’ll find clothing, jewelry, children’s wear, paper goods, pet collars, vintage decor, live music and mobile food and vintage vendors! The sale only last from 9am to 4pm, so don’t miss your window of opportunity! Entry is $5 (free parking).
This event gets better and better each time! Will I see you there this Saturday?
