Amberly Washington (Jr League Event Coordinator and Sweethead accessories designer) has planned a different type of wedding market for all of you brides-to-be!  She’s rounded up 40 of the best earth-friendly vendors to create “The Swoon” that will take place on March 24 at South Side On Lamar from 4 to 9pm.

Join others for sips, music and bites to see vendors including Anna Routh Photography, Southern Fried Paper, Blue Eye, Brown Eye, Vera Green Productions, F is for Frank, Sweethead and more!  Oak Cliff’s Oil and Cotton will be on hand hosting wedding themed DIY craft sessions!

You’ll want to stay for the fashion show at the end featuring The White Gown Showroom  and Cooper by Courtney Bridal, but don’t come late because the first 50 event shoppers will receive a swag bag full of goodies from the vendors that includes Emergency Bridal Kits and handmade jewelry by Cardinal House.

I love that she swept the night with her voice.  No team of dancers, over the top set design or outrageous costume necessary…  I have tremendous appreciation for creative expression, but Lady Gaga has got to be rethinking sitting there all night with that net over her face… I would have had that thing off after the first act!

Another highlight for me was Sir Paul…  My first thought (and FB status update) after watching his last performance was “I’ll have some of whatever Sir Paul is having…”  Seriously!  I’m not young and he could be my dad! I think he’s pretty amazing!

There’s not many things I love more than my sweet German-shorthaired Pointer, Princess.  She was a gift from my ex-husband and absolutely the best gift I’ve ever received.  After many years of pointing and retrieving birds during hunting season during her early years,  she’s now a full-time snuggle buddy and very best friend that shows me unconditional love on a daily basis!

Princess is the reason that I love dogs as much as I do and I enjoy finding cute products that promote great causes…like these cute tees from Vaute Couture!

Princess is 14 and I can’t bare to think of life without her…but I also can’t think of life without a dog, so when the time comes to get another dog I’ll likely adopt.

“New For the Night” launches today and allows you to borrow something beautiful and simply return it in 3 to 10 days!

The site stocks a variety of in-season styles bought directly from some of the hottest designers.  In addition to clothing, the site will also sell accessories from designers such as Kendra Scott, House of Harlow and Gillian Julius.

Creator, and Houston-native, Brittany Sakowitz developed this concept during an entrepreneurship class at the University of Houston Law Center.  She assembled a team including her father, Robert Sakowitz, and Lexi and Noelle, to help with the venture and today they’ll be able to see their handwork pay off with the launch of their site.

If you live in the Houston area, you can an appointment to visit their showroom located in River Oaks and try on styles or rent a dress for a last minute occasion.  Since this location is primarily a warehouse, the showroom features a small dressing room, computers to browse the site and racks full of gorgeous designer dresses.

How many times have you paid a fortune for a dress and only worn it once?  Do you have an event coming up that will send you searching for that perfect dress?  Would you consider using a site like this?

I am not an animal print wearer, but when I saw this amazing look and posted it recently, I was smitten!

I searched the web to find that there were no more Malene Birger coats available…(super sad face).  I scoured the web in search of a “knock-off” to no avail…

BUT…as I was making a quick run to the mall on Saturday to pick up a couple of things at Sephora, a leopard coat caught my eye hanging in Forever 21‘s window.  I just knew that when I touched it, I wouldn’t want a thing to do with it, but I was blown away at how soft and expensive the fabric felt!

OK…it’s not exactly like the Malene Birger version, but it’s very close for $62!  I always buy a size bigger at Forever 21 because I find that things are cut smaller there, so please keep that in mind if you decide to order.  Since I bought a size bigger, I plan to have it tailored so it will fit closer to my original version and it’s actually longer on me than it shows on this model.  You won’t be disappointed.
