leopard coat
February 3rd, 2012
I am not an animal print wearer, but when I saw this amazing look and posted it recently, I was smitten!

I searched the web to find that there were no more Malene Birger coats available…(super sad face). I scoured the web in search of a “knock-off” to no avail…

BUT…as I was making a quick run to the mall on Saturday to pick up a couple of things at Sephora, a leopard coat caught my eye hanging in Forever 21‘s window. I just knew that when I touched it, I wouldn’t want a thing to do with it, but I was blown away at how soft and expensive the fabric felt!

OK…it’s not exactly like the Malene Birger version, but it’s very close for $62! I always buy a size bigger at Forever 21 because I find that things are cut smaller there, so please keep that in mind if you decide to order. Since I bought a size bigger, I plan to have it tailored so it will fit closer to my original version and it’s actually longer on me than it shows on this model. You won’t be disappointed. Find it online here.
Now if we could just have a little cold weather here in Texas I might get to wear it this year!
Would you wear this much leopard?

Outdoor Swap and Flea
January 12th, 2012
You’ve got stuff you wanna get rid of and so do our friends at The Gypsy Wagon. Why not bring your retired goodies to The Gypsy Wagon’s first ever Outdoor Swap and Flea!?

Sunday, January 29th is the day for peddlin’! Come hang out with their Airstream, Gertie A-Go-Go, her food truck friends, and customers-turned-flea market vendors, as they take to streets for an old-fashioned flea sale and swap meet. Between 11am-5pm, folks can peruse the booths of 20 hand-selected vendors who are looking to get rid of treasures, junk and whatever else they want to swap/sell. It’s a 6-hour long, take-it-or-leave it, bargain-hunter’s paradise!

The Gypsy Wagon’s booth will be set up inside and out of Gertie A-Go-Go. Prepare for crazy massive deals on winter clothing, retired store displays, clearance items, a mess of sussies, and whatever other randomness they can find!

Be on the lookout for the exceptional Ruthie’s Rolling Café and Trailercakes food trucks who’ve been invited to come out and sling the best honest-to-goodness, melt in your mouth grilled cheese sandwiches and cupcakes to the crowd, from 11:30-1:30pm. Show up hankerin’ for Ruthie’s artisan breads and spreads, and Trailercakes’ frosted cake bites!

Interested in becoming a vendor in the Swap-N-Flea? Download an application from the Gypsy Happenings page here. $30 gets you a spot at the Swap-n-Flea (and you get a cute tee)!
