My friend, Tracy Porter, is back in a beautiful boho way!
In the words of Tracy, 2011 was the year of the “skinned knee”, but this “knee” is healed and better than ever! Her new Poetic Wanderlust is full of all of the things we’ve always loved about Tracy’s boho style and passion for all things lovely.
I’m totally crazy in-love with her rugs! Each one is custom made in her California studio and no two will be alike! (You all know I love unique!) Total statement of true poetic wanderlust!
I love Tracy’s heart and her genuine heartfelt style that inspires her designs.

I’ll gladly admit that I’m Gilt-y…and that means tonight I get to attend the exclusive Gilt-y Pledgers Preview Party at Thrift Studio!

Our favorite pop-up shop, benefiting our favorite charity, Dwell With Dignity, is back for another 30-day exclusive shopping event, featuring luxury room vignettes styled by some of Dallas’ top interior designers and select retailers.

Thrift Studio opens to the public on Saturday, April 14th at 10am and will run through May 12th. Find it at 1250 Slocum Street, Suite 550, inside the Dallas Design Center. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5:30pm and Sunday, noon to 5pm.
Horchow vignette
Each room vignette is created with at least 50% of the products coming from the Dwell With Dignity warehouse inventory which is donated from the general public or high end showrooms, retailers, designers.

Since I didn’t make it to Round Top last week, I’m really excited about the Marburger Farm room vignette styled by Uncommon Objects in Austin, TX. Many of the our favorite dealers at Marburger donated goods and Jody, from Dwell With Dignity, bundled them up and carefully brought them to Dallas so we can experience a bit of Marburger Farm here in the city!
TLC Contract Group vignette
Don’t expect to pay retail prices here, friends! Everything is deeply discounted and priced to sell! Their warehouse is full, so they’ll be re-stocking throughout the month. All proceeds from the event go to benefit the growth and work of Dwell With Dignity.

If you’re like me, you don’t want to wait until the general public shops on Saturday… Here’s how you can get to the goods before they do! Tonight’s Gilt-y Pledgers Party will kick off this month’s Thrift Studio with food, drinks, music and incredible deals! The party is from 6:30 to 9:30 and tickets are $125. For information go here.

I feel like such a loser! I haven’t read…or seen… The Hunger Games. I literally… cross my heart… finished reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, last night! (Great book, by the way!)
Even though I haven’t read The Hunger Games, I do know that the lead shoots a bow and arrow in the story. It’s evident by all of the bow and arrows I’m seeing in design and fashion lately! Here are a few examples…

This was actually a find on my last trip to Round Top! It’s a vintage shooting target poster.
I bought this ring a few weeks ago. You get two trends without spending tons of money! Mint and and arrow!

Have you read The Hunger Games? Should I download this book and start reading immediately? Are you currently displaying a bow or an arrow on your person or in your home?
Ever see a beautiful space in a magazine, or on-line, and wonder where you find the goods to re-create the same look in your home? So far, the turquoise finial is getting the most love. If you haven’t left a comment here, you’re missing your opportunity to get any Hillary Thomas finial that your little heart desires! You can see the entire collection here.
There are only two days left to leave a comment! Can’t wait to hear which is your fav!
My fellow Dallas blogger friend, Kyle Knight of Knight Moves, recently posted about Hilary Thomas’ adorable Chic Shop in Brentwood where she snuck in a little shopping before heading back to Dallas after the recent Design Bloggers Conference. I immediately hopped on Hilary’s on-line shop and fell in love with her line of finials!
The Rock ‘n Rolla collection is my favorite! I’m particularly drawn to the bright colors, as they would add the perfect little pop to any lamp.
Zulu Love Train Collection – A collection created with telephone wire which is hand-woven by Zulu weavers in South Africa. Each is ‘one of a kind’ and the unique vision of each individual artisan.
Madame Chiang Collection – Wow! Gorgeous carved jade…timeless!
Hillary says, “Think of finials as jewelry for your lamps. “The Finial Touch” is a fresh new collection of lamp finials, a category often overlooked by the design world. This line is inspired by an era when attention to design detail, whimsy, and cultural flair were celebrated in the smallest of home furnishings.”
If you’re like me, you’re ready to order one for each lamp in your home! I’m excited to tell you that Hillary is giving the finial of your choice to the winner of this giveaway!
Here’s what you need to do to enter!
Leave a comment here (not my Facebook page) and let us know what finial is your favorite and why. This is the hardest part, right? How in the world do you chose just one?
