I did this last year for my son’s first birthday! See pictures here. I used two cookies as eyes, brown M&M’s as eyeballs and broke one side of the cookie in half for the owl’s eyebrows.
Here’s a warning: real Oreos break easily and don’t twist off with all the creme on one side so either buy 2 bags for backup or buy the Whole Foods brand. I recently purchased the Whole Foods 360 brand oreo cookies and they twisted apart perfectly every time! Where was that last year when I spent hours cursing and re-icing cookies!?!?
