Pop Fest
I just received the third addition of Laura Day Living, one of my favorite e-mags, and her article on “Healthy Cupboards” features popsicles!
Find all of her suggestions on the best pop recipes, molds and makers here. Don’t they look yummy?
These Orange-Banana Smoothie pops may be on the agenda for my hot Texas Memorial Day weekend! Simply puree one 7 oz. container of yogurt, 2/3 cup thawed orange juice concentrate, 2 large bananas, and one table spoon of fresh lime juice in the blender. (Zest of one lime optional) Pour in 6 3oz. molds and add a popsicle stick. If you don’t have mini baking tins, as pictured, use paper cups. Freeze for about 4 hours and enjoy!
Hidden List Tip – Don’t leave out your four-legged friends when it’s time for pops! My dogs love Frosty Paws frozen treats for dogs. Find out where you can get them in your area here or make your own frozen dog treats by mixing 32 oz. plain or vanilla yogurt, 1 mashed banana, 2 T p’nut butter and 2 T honey in a blender. Pour into ice cube trays, paper cups or a Kong toy and freeze.
