I love so many things about this jewelry!  Let’s just start with the designer.  Meet Abbie Chesney.

She is the genius behind this wonderful project that is Eye On the Sparrow Design. Abbie creates stylishly edgy bracelets and earrings from guitar and bass strings.  She started doing this following the death of a friend, Carter Albrecht, in 2007 when she wanted to do something creative in his memory.

Abbie donates 25% of her sales to the Carter Albrecht Foundation.  The foundation is dedicated to assisting kids involvement in music by providing instruments and scholarships.  Chesney is an eating disorder therapist by day and incorporates the way we perceive ourselves into the names of her designs.  There are three categories:  thick, slim and chunky.  Genius!

You will be provided with the name of the musician that provided the “mojo” on the string that you are purchasing.  Many are local musicians in the DFW area, but Abbie is working to grow her variety of musicians to nationally known names.  Check out the list of musicians that she has collected from here.
