A Heavy Heart
It’s another one of those days, friends… The devastation that Oklahoma is experiencing is overwhelming…. It doesn’t feel right to post about anything other than praying for our friends in the great state of Oklahoma…

Does anyone else love Amy Grant like I do? Just hearing her voice brings back so many old memories of college and some friends that I haven’t seen in years! (uh-oh…I think I just aged myself!)
After 10 years of time away from the studio, she’s back with her album, How Mercy Looks from Here, and sounds better than ever with guest vocals from some of my favorites…James Taylor, Carol King and Sheryl Crow…and her hubby, Vince Gill. I give this comeback two thumbs up!
What artist brings back memories for you? Are you an Amy Grant fan? What two artists do you wish would collaborate?
Mark your calendar for the 5th annual Brew Riot! I’m a bit partial, but I’ll be pulling for my neighborhood crew… SPAM BIER (Stevens Park Ale Makers)…
Every now and then I like to stroll through Etsy and Ebay and search for great deals on art. I’m not sure why I do this because I have a stack of art sitting in my living room that I have no wall space to display! OK…Sorry about the digression… During my search today I stumbled across these beautiful lamp shades from House of Chintz on Etsy. Not exactly what I was looking for, but such a pleasant find!
The artist, Kate Boyce, grew up in Middle England and these shades are a light hearted look at this suburban area. I think they’re beautiful!
Ever with you had a hard copy of that great Instagram photo you just took? Well, now you can with this cool app!
PostalPix allows you to order photos directly from your phone. I have a feeling that this is going to be my latest addiction!
The first three pics are 99 cents and 29 cents after that, with 69 cents shipping. Almost free, right? These are going to be so much fun to send in Christmas cards and thank you notes!
If you want to turn your Instagram photos into magnets, go to Stickygram, an easy on-line tool. I wonder how many Stickygrams a fridge can hold… I can’t wait to get my Instagram print collection started!
Are you going to download PostalPix? What Instagram photo is your favorite?
I recently got an email from my friend, Carley Seale, owner of one of my favorite spots, The Gypsy Wagon, and the message made my day. The reason I write this blog is to share things that I find exceptional and when I hear that something I have posted has “struck a chord” with you, it brings me great joy!
Carley’s email came to me after yesterday’s post about the wooden height ruler… Here’s what she said…
**”I just left a comment, but I am totally ordering this!
Also, I wanted to tell you Johnny is ordering a signature necklace for me for Mother’s Day. I have a letter from my mother that she wrote me on my 18th birthday. It is subscribed to “Dearest Carley” in her perfect handwriting. That is what we are using for the signature. I thought you would like that!
Love the Hidden List!
Carley”**
What an amazing idea!! How dear to wear the unique handwriting of a loved one…
I just had to share this with you guys while the post about the signature necklace is relatively fresh…
If you find something on my blog that “speaks to you”, please let me know. It will help guide my search for more exceptional things that you’ll enjoy!
Thank you, sweet Carley, for sharing this with me! This is what keeps my blogging!

I have a new favorite on-line mag! You’ve got to check out Bungalow Magazine…
I love seeing so many of my creative friends featured! Don’t miss Alexis Pond’s street style, Abbe Fenimore‘s designer picks, Pulp Design Studio’s Carolina Gentry and Beth Dotolo‘s favorite rooms and Peacock Alley‘s anatomy of a guest bedroom. I’m crazy about all of the homes featured and I think you’ll love them too!
Congrats, Bungalow Magazine, on an amazing first issue! Give me more!
My best friend will soon be moving out of her house that she’s been in for 18 years. She’s so excited about decorating a new home, but there are still moments of sadness. This was the house where she raised her kids and made so many memories. I couldn’t help notice, during a recent visit, the height chart on the edge of the kitchen pantry door. Carefully marked measured and dated in markers and ink… It’s too bad that they can’t somehow take that door with them…
That’s why I love this customizable height chart. As your kids grow, you can move it around and always take it with you. I would use a marker to put dates and their names on special occasions to mark their height. What a wonderful keepsake!

Our signatures are almost as original as our finger prints. They may change throughout the years…Like in Jr High when the dots on your i’s turned into big fat hearts…but they are always uniquely ours.
These signature necklaces from Brevity are about as personal as it gets. I love the idea of wearing a loved ones signature or writing a short phrase for someone special.
No matter how you decide to wear it, or give it, it will be clear that this work of art represents your personality, your mark that has been established over the course of your life and shows who you are now.
